Parkfield is celebrating our 25th Anniversary

In 2018 Parkfield Primary School is celebrating our 25th Anniversary.

We have a few events planned throughout the year.

One of these is a commemorative event which will allow past and present students, staff and families to purchase an engraved paver to be laid outside a designated area of Block One.

Parkfield Primary School looks forward to past and present school community members participating in this event so that we have a wonderful commemorative area that celebrates 25 years of providing a quality education for all.

Parkfield Primary School

A high quality education for every child; whatever their ability, wherever they live, whatever their background.

Independent Public School

Parkfield Primary School is an Independent Public School which has been proudly educating young children for 25 years and has gained a strong reputation and culture as a leading primary public educational institution.

Beyond the academic excellence which Parkfield pursues, it proudly offers all its students a safe, inspiring and creative learning environment which provides unique opportunities for academic enrichment and extension.  Each and every child is encouraged to realise their full potential as we aspire to develop engaged, creative, independent, lifelong learners who will be active and responsible members of the school community.

We consider our experienced teaching staff to be one of the strongest in the South West delivering engaging and innovative learning programs so that every child feels happy, challenged and valued.  Our strong and effective student services program encourages and supports student leadership, positive student behaviour and is supported by our pastoral care program.

School Overview

Our active school community consists of our Parents and Citizens Association and School Board which is made up of parents, staff, industry and university representatives who are our partners in forging the school ethos and direction.

Our school buildings are of contemporary design with learning areas supporting three to four classrooms each with their own designated Information Technology area.  Specialist facilities are provided for the extensive Physical Education, Music, Dance, Japanese and Visual Arts programs.

Parkfield Primary School is situated in a vibrant, modern community which enjoys a wonderful, relaxed lifestyle. It is surrounded by water with the Brunswick and Collie Rivers to the east and south and the Leschenault Estuary to the west.  The proximity to the estuary, rivers and beaches enables staff and students to utilise these waterways for field excursions which supports our commitment to our Parkfield Learning and Understanding Sustainability (PLUS) whole school program.

Specialist Programs / Special Projects

Our specialist teachers are well respected, experienced and passionate in their chosen field and this is evident by their history of success.

The Japanese Language Program continued to be taught from Years 3-6. The classes were in one-hour block sessions once a week, with students attending class in a designated Japanese classroom.

Visual Arts

The Music Program at Parkfield reflected the ever-changing needs of our students. The class music program provided for a one-hour weekly session for all Years 1-6 classes.

Spreading the Bark - Science at Parkfield Primary School

Science as a Specialist Teaching Area was initiated at Parkfield in 2016, with Year 3 classes and Year 6 classes and then growing to include Year 4 and 5 classes.

Physical Education/Activity

The Physical Education Program (PE) at Parkfield aims to promote the benefits of regular physical activity, while providing students with the opportunity to further develop their physical and interpersonal skills.

At Parkfield Primary School, we believe that the Arts is essential for emotional and physical health and well being, and that all students should be given opportunities to develop the skills and confidence to pursue and extend this aspect of their social development.
